Tuck is
one of the finest Aussies I've known. He's handsome, sound, smart and
has a heart of gold. Oh yeah.....and he's my boy. I decided that one
of the perks of being the boss is to be able to use the website as an
excuse to talk about my dogs. Being a dog trainer, you'd think I'd want
to talk about something else. Well, at least you'd think so.
Back to
Tucker. He was bred out of CH. Penn Y Caerau (Scanner) and Fairview
Blue Denim Callie by Bev Shaw of Arcadia Florida.
Tuck
is an amazing dog and what I like to consider the quintessential Australian
Shepherd. He defines the breed first with a sound temperment and an
easygoing nature. Excellent drive when you need it, and a minimum of
the infamous Aussie "reserve". Tuck is an ambassador of good
will to any friendly face. This is the heart of who he is and why he
has always touched me in a special way. Kamakazi kissing is his specialty.
I have alway prefered outgoing dogs and Tuck always makes me proud how
he handles crowds and new faces. He is my most confident demo dog in
obedience classes.
Combine
an outstanding temperment with incredible side gait, great topline,
and strong expressive head and you complete the package.
When I
first picked Tucker up and brought him home, he jumped out of his crate
in the middle of a class and proceeded to take over the room. The boy
showed no fear that day and never looked back. Having just completed
his AKC championship, Tuck is knockin em down in the breed ring as a
special. Not even three years old, he loves to work, whether its in
the breed ring with handler Jim Berger, or working the school with his
Dad, Tuck is ready.
Tuck is
also a thinker. More pensive than my other Aussie Jake, Tuck's wheels
are always turning. We all fall in love with that part of our dogs that
makes them different from the rest. Ch. Windypines' "Salt of the
Earth" is a special boy.
